The Alexandria Film Festival will run from Nov. 12-15 at 500 Alexandria Avenueis. This year the festival is in its 13th year as it continues to showcase up and coming faces in the film industry on a local scale. The website  of the festival states, “The Alexandria Film Festival brings high-quality short and feature length films, documentaries, filmmaker panels, and arts presentations to the historic port city of Alexandria, Virginia”. Academic Achievements Of Team Members Celebrated By Inova Mount Vernon Hospital

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital celebrated the academic achievements of team members on Monday, Aug. 3, who were unable to ‘walk’ this year due to COVID-19. Twenty-six graduates earning various degrees from Associate, Bachelor’s, and Master’s were honored. Hospital staff members watched the event via zoom and cheered on their colleagues as each graduate’s name was individually recognized. Old Mount Vernon High School To Get Renovated

Mount Vernon High School has moved closer to Phase 1 of renovating and reusing the existing structure recently. Supervisor Dan Storck (D-Mount Vernon) organized a virtual meeting with the community and designers to discuss the plan and listen to ideas. Storck said, “It’s just an amazing building we have on the Richmond Highway corridor. Alexandria Celebrates 39th Annual St. Patrick’s Day

Alexandria was all green on Saturday with dogs, bagpipes and Irish dancers for the 39th annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration and dog show. The event is held every year by the nonprofit organization Ballyshaners. It is an effort to preserve Irish history while bringing the community together.
