A new stayAPT Suites extended-stay hotel will open their first building in early October. It will open in the place of the old Quality Inn on the corner of Richmond Highway and Mount Vernon Memorial Highway. This project will bring new life to this area just outside Fort Belvoir.
According to the Mount Vernon Gazette, “The new stayAPT Suites three-story building will feature 73 apartment-style accommodation, each with at an average of 500+ square feet. The open-concept living room includes a sleeper sofa, lounge chair, and wall-mounted 55-inch television. The kitchen features a full-size stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator.”
As per Mount Vernon Gazette, “This stayAPT location in Woodlawn is the debut of its all-newly constructed hotel brand, offering a concept within long-term lodging, which could be convenient to outside companies doing business with Fort Belvoir, as well as families visiting the Mount Vernon Plantation. This location is the first of 12 newly constructed hotels opening in 2020, with an additional 30 locations slated for 2021, with a majority in North and South Carolina.”
